This installation explores the experiences and stories of 12 Individuals who have a visible or invisible disability. Each person has formed a collaborative relationship with the artist in order to create an artwork that represents their unique perspective on life. In some cases, the individual’s is also an artist.

The project had allowed for an open conversation around disability and a chance to learn from one another and develop a better understanding of a different lived experience. The relationship built and moment shared are the key to the project. Each boxed artwork, with the help and support of the artists involved, offers a rare insight and an opportunity to explore and learn from the perspective of each individual. Simultaneously, the aesthetic of art facilitates a therapeutic way of telling a story without words or justification.
